Often times we only hear about the things that we can do for our brain independently, for example, Sudoku, learning an instrument, and a language learning program. It isn’t often explained that being a social person or engaging in social events/activities can be a great way to exercise your brain and keeping it active. Having a conversation with someone else on a challenging topic, like politics, can assist in keeping your brain active by challenging it. Another way that you can be socially engaging and use your brain is by playing two or person games or join common interest clubs/organizations. Not only is being social a tool to help keep your brain active, it a component of successful aging.
